Friends of the Village Hall

WALKING GROUP, FILM CLUB, MAHJONG and TRAVELLER'S TALES

To join the “Friends” costs £10 per year, year commencing in May. Each group has a different subscription fee. The £10 subscription enables you to join all clubs plus their other fees.

FILM CLUB

The club was set up in May 2015 to enable films to be shown in the Village Hall.

Initially, we belonged to the Suffolk Film Network as we didn’t possess the equipment, it entailed travelling back and forward to Stowmarket on consecutive days to collect and return the equipment, film members did this. Through fundraising and subscriptions, we have managed to purchase a screen, speakers, DVD player and amplifier. We share the projector with the computer club.

Film Club subscription is £6 per year (starting in May) plus the “Friends” £10 subscription.

Limited to 50 members.

Films are shown monthly (except for August & December) on the 4th Tuesday evening of the month, with the films commencing at 7.30pm.

Refreshments are provided by members, we charge £2 for hot drink and a piece of cake.

Once a year, films are suggested by members, subsequently every member votes on what to watch – the films with the most votes win.
